About the 9/11 Memorial & Museum
The National September 11 Memorial features twin reflecting pools that sit within the footprints where the Twin Towers once stood. They are nearly an acre in size and feature the largest manmade waterfalls in North America. The names of every person who died in the 2001 and 1993 attacks on the World Trade Center are inscribed into bronze panels edging along the pools in a reminder of the largest loss of life from a foreign attack on American soil.
The 9/11 museum serves as the country’s principal institution for examining the implications, impact, and continuing significance of the events of September 11, 2001. It features 110,000 square feet of exhibition space that tells the story of 9/11, including a commemoration of all the men, women, and children who lost their lives that day.
