Stay at Our New York City Hotel near Central Park

When you’ve had enough of the loud noises of the city, head into Central Park for a refreshing change of pace. Located just 2 miles from The Wolcott Hotel in the center of Manhattan, Central Park offers something for everyone. The park is one of the most famous and beloved urban parks in the world. In fact, it was the nation’s first public park. It is also considered one of America’s greatest works of art.

Central Park is home a number of art installations, lakes, gardens, a carousel, an ice-skating rink, and even a zoo. Here, you can rent a boat, take a tour, play a game of chess, attend a special event, or just sit on a bench enjoying the sights and smells of one of the park’s many beautiful gardens. There’s so much to do in Central Park that you’ll need to spend a few days exploring it. Good thing our hotel is only 15 minutes away. Catch a cab, bus, or train and you’ll be there in no time.

The Central Park Zoo

Penguins, polar bears, monkeys, lions, and more await your visit at the Central Park Zoo. This state-of-the-art zoo showcases animals from tropical, temperate, and polar zones around the world. A visitor favorite, the sea lion pool is located in the center courtyard and features glass sides that allow you to see these sleek mammals gliding and spiraling under water. Stop by during feeding times (11:30am, 2:00pm, and 4:00pm) and watch the four sea lions perform tricks for their meal.

The zoo also boasts a new area just for the kiddies – the Tisch Children’s Zoo. The children’s zoo is home to goats, sheep, a cow, and a Vietnamese pot-bellied pig, all of which you can feed right out of your hand. Be sure to stop by the Enchanted Forest to see artistic remains of primeval oak trees, acorns, and a giant spider.
